I like the new conversation going on at the south end of Blackfriars Road. Peabody's 1875 four-storey estate is acting as tolerant great-gran to its nine-storey Barratt upstart across the road. Junior is in many ways a chip off the old block: simple, but with a few details to ensure that the street scene is enlivened for the passer-by. I hope we might see more street trees and bustling shops before long on the east side of the street. You can see below what a difference a window box and a shrub make to a dour elevation...
